Where is Weinheim?
Weinheim lies on the Badische Bergstrasse in the north of Baden-Württemberg, in the Rhein-Neckar district. It sits about 18 km north of Heidelberg and 15 km northeast of Mannheim, making it an easy base for the whole Rhine-Neckar region as well as a destination in its own right. Since 1956 it has held the status of a “große Kreisstadt”.
How to get there
- By train: The OEG/RNV tram line 5 and the S-Bahn RheinNeckar connect Weinheim directly with Heidelberg and Mannheim; both have fast onward connections across Germany.
- By car: The A5 and A659 motorways run right past the town, so arriving and parking near the center is straightforward.
- By air: Frankfurt Airport is roughly an hour away by car or train, the most convenient international gateway.
